Which makes their goals for energy neutrality in 2050 more than feasible.

Investing in the Polish offshore wind sector will create economic opportunities for both countries. This collaboration will enhance the already strong international bond between the Dutch and Polish offshore energy sectors.
Climate neutral

The Netherlands is aiming to have a 100% climate-neutral energy supply and economy by 2050. To achieve this goal, we want to partner with energy providers that can integrate and apply sustainable solar and wind energy. With the tendering, construction and completion of several state-of-the art offshore wind farms, the Netherlands is well on its way to achieving its goal.

These wind farms will enable the Netherlands to reach its goal of having an installed offshore wind capacity of 11.5 GW by 2030 and 60 GW or more by 2050. One GW can power over one million households, so this represents great progress. As part of its offshore wind strategy, Poland aims to construct wind farms producing between 8 and 10 GW by 2040 and 28 GW by 2050. This will supply power to 28 million households. Auctioning for parties interested in developing this capacity is expected to start within the next few years.
