Circular Economy - Poland

Circular Economy

One of the main priorities of the Embassy’s Economic Section in Poland is supporting the circular economy, which is done by attracting Dutch companies and public organisations to share their know-how and become active on the Polish market. To accomplish this the Embassy organizes  activities with focus on sustainable business.

Annual Circular Event

The main annual circular event in Poland, where the Netherlands is one of the main partners, is the Circular Week, organized in October by Innowo/Polish Circular Hotspot. Each year the Embassy gets actively involved in the events, we invite companies, local authorities and NGOs from the Netherlands to exchange knowledge and showcase circular solutions, as well as to network and match with Polish partners.

The circular Economy is multisectoral and the Embassy has been actively promoting each possible aspect of it, such as circular cities, circular construction and infrastructure, new business models, avoiding food waste, plastic recycling, circular textiles, circular agriculture or financing sustainable businesses.

Circular Gap Report

In 2022 the Circular Gap Report for Poland was prepared by Circle Economy, which calculated circularity in Poland at 10,2%. Despite scoring higher than average in the world (7,2% in 2023, source: www.circularity-gap.world/2023), there is a big gap to be best filled in cooperation with other countries, such as the frontrunner, the Netherlands.

Visit Polish delegation to Circular Textile Days in the Netherlands

Poland organisations visited the third edition of Circular Textile Days in 's-Hertogenbosch (Netherlands) to network, to share information and for some to find a partner on their journey to circularity.
The exhibition focused on all parts of the sustainable textile chain, giving opportunity to meet recyclers of yarns, textile collectors, circular designers, stylists and developers of the product passports.
