ScaleNL Accelerator helps 12 Dutch startups grow in Silicon Valley
San Francisco – Twelve Dutch startups kicked off their journey this week to realize their American dream as part of the ScaleNL accelerator program.
These startups operate in various sectors, such as AI, fintech, and sustainability, and over the next few weeks they will undergo intensive training to make their mark on the American market.
This cohort is focused on the US West Coast, and after preparations in the Netherlands, the group will travel to Silicon Valley and LA in December.
The ScaleNL Accelerator is an intensive 12-week growth program organized by the Dutch consulate in San Francisco in collaboration with other Dutch consulates in the US.
It focuses on both skills and knowledge, covering topics such as fundraising, sales techniques, and delivering an effective pitch. Successful Dutch entrepreneurs in Silicon Valley and Los Angeles share their experiences and expertise with the newcomers.
The quality and ingenuity of Dutch technology is highly recognized, and many US companies are on the lookout for Dutch innovations.
Yet Dirk Janssen, Consul General in San Francisco, recognizes that Dutch startups often need a push in the highly competitive American market.
"Having an innovative idea in the Netherlands is not sufficient to break through in the US," he said. "By participating in the ScaleNL program, founders can connect with American investors and customers and lay the groundwork for successful expansion into the US. This benefits not only the entrepreneur but also the Dutch and US economy."
Following a thorough selection process based on innovation, team strength, and potential success in the American market, the following 12 startups form this fall's cohort:
- Coolset: Develops software to enhance sustainability in businesses.
- eDRV: Simplifies the development of software for electric vehicle charging.
- Elfsquad: B2B software focused on sales in the manufacturing industry.
- Envision: Provides access to visual information for people with no or low vision.
- Innatera: Microprocessor chips inspired by the human brain.
- Metrica Sports: Technology for analyzing sports performance.
- Peerby: Borrow items from people in your neighborhood.
- Scitodate: Analyzes research using AI and filters relevant data.
- Uncover Legal: Optimizes the legal sector with AI.
- Voyc: Assists financial companies in optimizing customer interactions through AI.
- Wonderflow: Supports entrepreneurs in making decisions with AI.
- XLINQ: Software platform targeting regulated sectors.
Consul General Janssen: "Technological developments are advancing rapidly. As an open economy, the Netherlands cannot afford to lag behind, and it is crucial that our companies remain innovative in the future. This investment can substantially enhance the competitiveness of participants."
ScaleNL is co-funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
