The booklet 'Cartoons for Human Rights' was launched today during the visit of our Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hanke Bruins Slot, at the Human Rights Council in Geneva. This launch is part of the kick-off for the Kingdom of the Netherlands' three-year membership in the Human Rights Council, aiming to maintain the momentum of 75 years of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

This booklet is the result of a collaborative effort between the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Cartoon Movement, and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. An illumination of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with cartoons crafted by artists from around the globe.

Over 75 years ago, all Member States of the newly born United Nations came together to adopt the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. An acknowledgment that human rights for every individual serve as the cornerstone for fostering freedom, justice, and global peace. “When it comes to human rights, we need all hands on deck”, says Volker Türk.
