Nynke Staal has been working as Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg since the summer of 2025. She has held various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 2013, in The Hague and abroad. Before Strasbourg she worked as Deputy Ambassador to Libya, and as first secretary at the Permanent Mission of the Netherlands to the United Nations in New York
