Norway Below the Surface: Exploring the Critical Raw Material Landscape

Written by the Embassy´s policy intern Sander Groenendijk in spring 2025, this report offers an overview of the Norwegian landscape and associated value chain surrounding critical raw materials (CRMs), key actors, national strategies, and government policies. It analyzes Norway’s supply potential from a broader European perspective and provides a SWOT analysis, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the current, and future potential, of the Norwegian critical raw material sector. Additionally, the report briefly explores potential opportunities for Norwegian-Dutch cooperation within the sector.
