What/ why?

eHerkenning for PROBAS enables international organisations to do online business with the Dutch government in a secure way. To access online governmental services international organisations are required to register an authorized representative for the use of eHerkenning for PROBAS in the PROBAS ePortal. 

It is kindly recommended to register at least one local staff member for eHerkenning, preferably familiar with HR-matters, thus safeguarding user-knowledge within your organisation.

How do we register?  

Registration of an authorised Organisation’s representative for the use of eHerkenning for PROBAS takes two simple steps. As follows: 

1. A note verbale issued by the Organisation stating which staff member will be the authorised representative for eHerkenning for PROBAS along with a copy of a valid passport needs to be uploaded in the ePortal along with a change request for eHerkenning. 
2. Once the change request for eHerkenning has been approved in the PROBAS ePortal, the international organisation can proceed to register the authorised representative with Digidentity, our eHerkenning for PROBAS provider.

Please note that, when registering an authorised representative with Digidentity, not being an EU-citizen, the identity document needs to meet eIDAS requirements. 

eIDAS stands for “Electronic Identification and Trust Services”. With eIDAS, the European Union aims to remove the digital borders between countries within the European Economic Area (EEA). This ensures the security of digital systems and protects the privacy of individuals.
