Strategic Partnership agreement USP -Connexx Systems
Dutch company Universal & Sustainable Power (USP) and Connexx Systems Co., a Kyoto based Advanced Battery Technology Company, signed a strategic partnership agreement witnessed by Ambassador Gilles Beschoor Plug at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo.
The agreement marks an important step in bringing certified circular battery systems to Europe, starting with the Netherlands as the pilot market for Connexx’s EnePOND® BESS technology.
USP’s Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) will
repurpose batteries that ended their first life cycle in electric
vehicles, like e-buses, e-trucks and EV’s. An additional ten to
fifteen years of lifetime can be added before the batteries are
finally taken apart and recycled. A BESS can be used to power
construction sites or as charger for electric equipment in rural
areas where no sufficient power is available. Application in ports,
marine equipment or in micro grids for congested areas is also promising.
This Dutch–Japanese collaboration shows the shared
commitment to the energy transition of both countries. It blends
Dutch entrepreneurship with Japanese high-tech innovation.
