DUJAT Honors Christa de Kemp’s Contributions, Welcomes Claartje Bouwers, and Celebrates Successful Japan Visit
Ms. Christa de Kemp, who has contributed to the development of Dutch & Japan Trade Federation (DUJAT) for many years, will officially resign at the end of September 2026. She will be succeeded by Ms. Claartje Bouwers, who will officially assume the position on October 1st.
Ms. Bouwers majored in law and gained international experience through an internship in Washington D.C. before starting her career as a lawyer in the Netherlands. She has cultivated deep knowledge of international culture and business dynamics, having served for many years as legal counsel and director at Japanese companies in the Netherlands, spent 13 years as general counsel and Executive at Logisnext Europe, and serves as a member of the Supervisory Board of Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. She also previously served as the Board of DUJAT few years ago, so some may already be familiar with her.
Under the strong leadership of Ms. Kemp, which included the important mission of strengthening relations between the Netherlands and Japan, DUJAT has grown to a successful, solid, and healthy organization. This remarkable achievement will be carried on by Ms. Bouwers, and further development of DUJAT is expected with the support of the Board.
The annual DUJAT Japan visit program took place this year under the 426 years of friendship between Japan and the Netherlands from June 1st to June 5th. Beginning in Osaka, they visited Daiwa House Industry Co., Ltd. and Kubota Corporation. Then traveled to Tokyo, where they visited companies such as Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. and Teijin Soleil Co., Ltd. A welcome reception hosted by the Ambassador Gilles Beschoor Plug was attended by approximately 90 people at the Ambassador's residence, marking a successful event that with deep gratitude to Ms. Kemp and celebrated Ms. Bouwers's new beginning and wished for the development of business between the two countries.
