The total trade volume between the two countries is about € 40 billion. The export from the Netherlands to Italy amounts to € 25 billion and approximately € 15 billion is exported from Italy to the Netherlands (source CBS 2021).

For the Netherlands, Italy is the 6th export destination and for Italy, the Netherlands are the 10th export market.

The Italian and Dutch production chains are closely intertwined. There are 17,000 Dutch companies that have a trading relationship with Italy.
