As part of the Santo Domingo 2025 Agrofood Expo, a significant trade mission from the Kingdom of the Netherlands, comprised of five delegations, arrived in the Dominican Republic to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and cooperation. This event represented an excellent strategic opportunity to forge sustainable partnerships between companies from our Kingdom and the Dominican Republic, highlighting sectors related to the food supply chain, agroindustrial innovation, and sustainability.

Currently, the Netherlands is the leading European importer of Dominican products, with bilateral trade between the Kingdom and the Dominican Republic approaching US$1 billion. Nearly 70% of this figure corresponds to the agrifood sector, and Dominican exports to the Kingdom's Caribbean territories have shown significant growth in recent years.

During the fair, more than 80 representatives from the Netherlands, Aruba, St. Maarten, Curaçao, and Bonaire participated in fruitful meetings and business rounds with local companies. The Agrifood Expo generated purchasing intentions worth more than $528.6 million, representing a 28.9% increase compared to the previous edition. Together with Aruba and the Netherlands, the Kingdom of the Netherlands led the list of commercial intentions. This result demonstrates the strong and growing trade relationship between our Kingdom and the Dominican Republic.

During his remarks, the ambassador also expressed his gratitude for the excellent collaboration with all institutional and business partners from the Dominican Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. This trade mission was a great success, thanks to the efforts of everyone who contributed to this outcome.

“We firmly believe in the potential of the Dominican agricultural sector and in the strength of international collaboration. This mission is a concrete opportunity to build bridges between our companies, foster innovation, and advance toward a more sustainable future for all,” said the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Dominican Republic, H.E. Frank Keurhorst.
