On April 22 and 23, the Green Hydrogen Summit held its sixth edition in the city of Concepción. This shift in location underscored the increasing significance of the BioBio region as a key player in renewable hydrogen consumption and sustainable energy transition. With more than 1,000 participants, industry leaders, and policy makers in attendance, the summit highlighted the ever-growing importance of international collaboration in advancing hydrogen technologies.

Strengthening Global Collaboration in Renewable Hydrogen

The Dutch Embassy took center stage, representing the Netherlands' renewable hydrogen sector along with companies from the Partners in Business (PIB) public-private partnership cluster, Port of Rotterdam, Gasunie, the North Sea Port, Proton Ventures, Port Consultants Rotterdam, SoluForce, Vopak, and Arcadis. For more information on this program and participating companies, check: Green Energy Corridor Chile.

A key highlight of the summit was the participation of two distinguished Dutch panelists who traveled to Chile to share their expertise. Agustina Ravotti of Impact Hydrogen contributed to discussions on Hydrogen Valleys, while Tatiana Block from the New Energy Coalition presented insights from the European hydrogen valley HEAVENN—emphasizing the integration of SMEs within the renewable hydrogen value chain.

Beyond fostering knowledge exchange, the summit left attendees energized and motivated to accelerate hydrogen adoption worldwide. With the success of this event in Concepción, preparations are now underway for the upcoming World Hydrogen Summit in Rotterdam, scheduled from May 19-23, 2025, a continuation of the collective journey toward a cleaner, more sustainable future.
