Circular economic cooperation

In 2019, in the presence of Prime Minister Rutte and Australian Government officials Holland Circular Hotspot and Planet Ark signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Circular Economic cooperation. Since that signing, the Australian – Netherlands partnership has moved from strength to strength.

Dutch Professor Jacqueline Cramer was the key-note speaker at the official launch of the Australian Circular Economy Hub at the Sydney Opera House, presenting her latest thinking and publication on network circularity.

Collaboration in circular procurement

Supported by the Netherlands diplomatic missions, Australia and the Netherlands are deepening their circularity exchanges across government, business and academia.

Prominent Dutch academics including Professor Nancy Bocken and Professor Andre Nijhof have visited Australia to present their ground-breaking research in circularity and to engage in further collaborations on this important topic.

The Netherlands has supported collaborations with Australian parties on circular procurement, and the enterprises have been kicked off by expert exchanges between civil servants of Rijkswaterstaat in the Netherlands with the City of Melbourne and across Victoria and New South Wales.

A successful circular manufacturing partnership

Australian manufacturing group Integra Systems and Dutch sheet metal solutions manufacturer Brink Industrial signed a partnership agreement to develop and commercialize CE manufacturing.

Central to this partnership is the development and commercialization of circular manufacturing based products and services, starting with LUNE waste systems. Both companies are at the heart of Industry 4.0 manufacturing clusters in respectively Victoria and Drenthe.
