This week, a three-day exploratory mission saw Dutch companies explore the UK market and connect with key players in the organic sector.
The program offered a rich combination of market insights, site visits, and networking opportunities. The mission was organised by Phaff Export Marketing and Promar International on behalf of the Agriculture Department of the Dutch Embassy in London.
The first day began with an in-depth presentation by John Giles, who provided a valuable overview of the UK organic market, followed by a retail trend tour through some of London’s most prominent retailers of organic products, including Planet Organic , Whole Foods Market , Sainsbury's , and Daylesford Organic .
On the second day, participants gained insights into organic certification and standards in the UK through a session with the Soil Association , attended the @NOPEX exhibition, and took part in a seminar and networking reception hosted by Deputy Head of Mission Annemijn van den Broek at the Embassy of the Netherlands.
The mission concluded with a visit to New Covent Garden Market and Reynolds Catering Supplies Ltd , offering participants a closer look at the UK’s fresh produce and foodservice landscape.
This mission empowered Dutch organic businesses with the knowledge, context, and contacts needed to explore new opportunities in the UK, driving sustainable growth across borders.
