Senior Commercial Officer – Circular Economy (Temporary: September–December 2026)
 
The Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Istanbul is looking for a Senior Commercial Officer – Circular Economy for a temporary assignment from September through December 2026.
 
You will play a key role in advancing Dutch–Turkish cooperation on circular economy and sustainability, with a particular focus on activities leading up to and during COP31 in Antalya.
 
Responsibilities
•    Coordinate and support a series of high-level events on circular economy in the run-up to and during COP31.
•    Provide guidance and support to a Dutch–Turkish trade promotion programme on circular textiles.
•    Provide guidance and support to a trade promotion programme on regenerative cotton production.
•    Identify and facilitate new business opportunities and partnerships between Dutch and Turkish stakeholders.
•    Contribute to the Consulate General's broader trade promotion and economic diplomacy activities.
 
Candidate profile
We are looking for an experienced professional with a proven track record in circular economy and sustainability in Türkiye.
 
The ideal candidate:
•    Has demonstrated experience working on circular economy, sustainable production or related policy and business topics in Türkiye.
•    Possesses an established network among relevant Turkish stakeholders, including government institutions, industry associations, chambers of commerce, knowledge institutes and the private sector.
•    Is proactive and able to initiate partnerships and identify collaboration opportunities.
•    Has excellent project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
•    Is fluent in English; knowledge of Turkish is considered a strong asset.
 
What we offer
The Consulate General offers a dynamic and international working environment at the heart of Dutch economic diplomacy in Türkiye. You will work closely with Dutch and Turkish public and private sector partners on high-impact sustainability initiatives linked to COP31. The position is for a fixed-term period of four months (September–December 2026). Salary will be commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications and experience.
