Director Nordics for the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency

At the Embassy of the Netherlands in Sweden

Do you want to contribute to the innovative power of the Netherlands?

Join us at the Netherlands Foreign Investment Agency (NFIA) Stockholm team, helping to attract innovative companies from the Nordics that can strengthen Dutch ecosystems to the Netherlands. From this summer we are looking for a new director - a selfstarter, who actively seeks cooperation and shares knowledge with our colleagues at the offices and the teams across the Invest in Holland network.

The NFIA is part of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs. It is responsible for the international promotion of the Netherlands as a business location for foreign companies and for actively attracting and supporting those foreign companies that contribute to the sustainable earning capacity of the Netherlands. NFIA does this in close collaboration with partners in the Invest in Holland network. With our strategic marketing and acquisition activities, we focus on strengthening existing Dutch ecosystems.

Job description

As Director Nordics, you are responsible for identifying and guiding companies that can further strengthen the Dutch economy through establishment or follow-up investments. Your working area is Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway.

Our team in Stockholm consists of two persons. You will work closely with colleagues at NFIA HQ in The Hague and the other EMEA offices, the Invest in Holland network (regional and local governments in the Netherlands that focus on investment promotion), local intermediaries/service providers, and the Dutch embassies in Stockholm (your base), Oslo, Copenhagen, and Helsinki.

Based on the strategic focus points that you receive from our sector teams, you investigate opportunities for potential investment projects in the Netherlands. You specifically approach companies in the sustainable energy, ICT, chemicals, High Tech Systems & Materials and Life Sciences and Health sectors.  You guide and advise these companies in their search for the most suitable location in the Netherlands.

In addition, you are responsible for account management at the HQ’s of a number of companies already established in the Netherlands in the context of our Investor Relations program, gathering investment climate signals and attracting any expansion investments, such as R&D activities, to the Netherlands.

You are closely involved in the investment-oriented part of incoming missions from ministers and representatives of local or regional governments, and responsible for building and maintaining relevant networks in the Nordics.

You work together and independently. Initiative is a requirement and you will have plenty of room to develop yourself. You will work in a dynamic, international and inspiring working environment. You will receive instructions from and report to the NFIA Commissioner in The Hague.
