The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nairobi has appointed Mr. Mohamed ‘Midnimo’ Osman as the Honorary Consul in Mogadishu. Midnimo, meaning 'solidarity,' will be the first-ever Honorary Consul in Somalia, representing Dutch interests from Mogadishu.

As the founder of marketing bureau Daauus and co-founder of the Holland House Mogadishu (Guriga Oranje), Midnimo brings experience to this new role. The appointment is seen as a significant development in fostering diplomatic relations between the Netherlands and Somalia, and strengthening ties with the ever-growing Dutch-Somali diaspora in Mogadishu.

Honorary consuls are a vital link between the Netherlands and you. In this way they remain closely connected to our communities abroad.

For consular services and assistance such as applying for travel documents, a visa or a certificate of residence, please contact the Embassy of the Netherlands in Nairobi or check NetherlandsWorldwide.
