22 Jan Save the Date – Quantum Technologies in Finance

A Dutch Quantum delegation led by Quantum Delta NL will be in Singapore from 19–23 January 2026, bringing a diverse delegation of leading research institutes (e.g. QuTech, TNO, QuSoft) and start-ups and scale-ups, with the aim of connecting with Singapore’s financial sector.

As quantum technologies continue to mature, the financial sector is increasingly seen as one of the early domains where concrete and potentially advantageous applications may emerge. Realizing this potential requires closer mutual understanding between technology researchers and developers, end-users, and institutions considering longer-term preparedness, as well as shared approaches to defining value.

To support this exchange, the Netherlands Embassy in Singapore, with the support of Singapore Management University, will organize a morning session inviting Singapore’s financial sector to meet, share and discuss quantum computing and quantum-safe communication together with the Dutch delegation.

Program

The session will begin with a short scene-setter, followed by two contributions from SMU and local banks on ongoing pilots in areas such as fraud detection, complex derivatives and cybersecurity and three contributions from the Dutch delegation. The session will conclude with an interactive panel discussion, moderated by a senior finance representative, focusing on when and how value from quantum technologies may emerge for financial institutions, and what this implies for the readiness, timelines and decision-making.

Dutch contributions will include:

  • Accelerated Monte Carlo simulation and derivatives pricing with photonic processors (QuiX Quantum)
  • Low-latency acceleration of fraud and risk models using FPGA-based architectures (HourSec)
  • The state of (scalable) quantum computing – trajectory to value for the finance sector (Groove Quantum)
