King's Day Reception in Singapore 2026

Ambassador Anneke Adema hosted an official reception at the Netherlands Residence on the evening of 23 April, with Senior Minister of State (Defence; Sustainability & Environment) Mr Zaqy Mohamad as Guest-of Honour, and with Members of Parliament Ms Rachel Ong and Mr Ng Shi Xuan.

King's Day, known as Koningsdag, is the Netherlands' national day celebration held annually on 27 April in honour of King Willem-Alexander's birthday.

The evening featured the singing of both Dutch and Singapore national anthems, performed by students from a record number of Dutch and Singaporean schools.

Ambassador Anneke and SMS Zaqy marked the occasion with a toast and heartfelt speeches reflecting on the strong friendship between Singapore and the Netherlands.

“As like-minded countries, I am confident that both out countries will chart new waters together and our relationship will continue to flourish,” said Mr Zaqy.

The Embassy extends its gratitude to the students, parents and staff from CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace, Crescent Girls’ School, German European School Singapore, Holland International School, LanguageOne, Overseas Family School, and Raffles Girls’ School for their participation.
