Photography workshop with Kadir van Lohuizen (NL)
On the occasion of the World Press Photo exhibition Down to Earth – Climate Change and Climate Futures, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Serbia invites emerging and established photographers and photojournalists aged 35 or under to apply for a 3-day workshop with internationally acclaimed Dutch photojournalist and filmmaker Kadir van Lohuizen.
Photography workshop VISUALISING THE CLIMATE CRISIS
This intensive professional workshop will support a limited number of photojournalists in developing their journalistic, investigative and visual storytelling skills. It will provide them with tools to document urgent climate related issues from their own communities and perspectives.
The workshop will focus on visual storytelling and photojournalism in the context of the climate crisis, with particular attention to its local and regional impact. Participants will be encouraged to look closely at the environmental stories unfolding in their own communities.
During the workshop, Kadir van Lohuizen will share his experience, methods and approach to photojournalism, investigative storytelling and long-term visual projects. He will also focus on the use of video and using multiple platforms to create impact.
There will be no mandatory assignment or formal deliverable following the 3-day workshop. Participants will be encouraged to continue exploring the stories and ideas discussed during the masterclass and, where relevant, develop them into their own photographic projects.
