The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Wellington is recruiting a new Honorary Consul in Auckland, a connector who can strengthen the unique relationship between the Netherlands and New Zealand, home to a vibrant Dutch diaspora.

This role helps deepen cooperation in areas where both countries lead globally — water management, climate resilience, horticulture and agri-innovation — while also supporting the Dutch community and businesses locally.

A key part of the position is supporting Dutch nationals who run into difficulties while travelling or living in the northern North Island and assisting the Embassy with consular services when needed, from emergencies to practical guidance.

The position is honorary, part-time and non-remunerated (with an annual flat rate allowance to cover costs), ideal for someone well-connected in Auckland’s business, academic or civic community, with a passion for bridging cultures and ideas.
