Ambassador visits Paneriai Memorial
At the Paneriai Memorial — a site of profound tragedy where over 70,000 Jews were murdered during the Holocaust — we marked Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Alongside colleagues from the Vokietijos Federacinės Respublikos ambasada, U.S. Embassy Vilnius, Lithuania, Embassy of Sweden in Vilnius, and Israeli Embassy
in Lithuania, we paid tribute to those who perished. Their lives,
their stories, their legacies must not be erased from history.
Paneriai is not merely a memorial. It is a strong reminder of the
darkness humanity can fall into when hatred is allowed to spread. It
challenges us to recognize the cost of silence, and to commit
ourselves, again and again, to the values of human dignity, truth, and
justice.
May their memory not only be a blessing, but also a
living call for each of us to act — today, and always.
