On the occasion of the 60th edition of Bologna Children's Book Fair, the Illustrators Survival Corner and Translators Café hosted a selection of masterclasses and workshops with Dutch authors/illustrators.

- Workshop by illustrator/author Harmen van Straaten
Van Straaten is a well-known Dutch illustrator and author with more than 50 books on his name and 400 illustrated books in Holland and abroad. In this workshop he will show how he creates a storyboard, starting from his latest Italian edition "Stasera a nanna non si va!", translated by Claudia Cozzi, published by Carlo Gallucci Editore.

- How to translate, promote and diffuse the Dutch culture through children's literature?
Award-winning translator Anna Patrucco Becchi will be talking with Agnes Vogt (Specialist for Children's Literature at the Dutch Foundation for Literature) about the translation of Dutch children's books and the programme of grants and subsidies provided by the Foundation to promote Dutch culture. Anna Petrucco Becchi has translated works by Dutch authors Jef Aerts, Annet Huizing, Sjoerd Kuyper, Benny Lindelauf, Annet Schaap and Anna Woltz.

- Masterclass with illustrator Loes Riphagen
Dutch illustrator Loes Riphagen gives an insight in her use of various materials and techniques to create her illustrations. She will showcase here latest Italian book "Sbrigati Carl!", translated by Matteo Francini, published by Edizioni Clichy.

- Workshop with Marije Tolman
Award winning Dutch illustrator Marije Tolman will concentrate on her latest book "Piccola Volpe", published by Il Castoro. Her illustrated books have been published and translated in more than 25 countries.
