Embassy in Ireland: who we are

Embassy Management

The management of the Embassy are responsible for the representation for the Dutch government in Ireland. The Ambassador represents the Dutch head of state on official occasions. In addition to the representational function, the Ambassador and her deputy also manage the personnel working in the Embassy. The current Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ireland, is Maaike van Koldam, the Deputy is Nora Dessing.

Economic Department

The Economic Department looks after Dutch economic interests in relationship with Ireland and promotes the presence of the Dutch business community on the Irish market. Political Department

The Political Department of the Dutch Embassy in Ireland is responsible for the representation of Dutch political interests in Ireland by working with the Irish government, as well as political and civil society organizations. We follow Irish, EU and foreign policy, and domestic political and social developments in Ireland. The priority themes of the Political Department are closely related to international and European current affairs. A key focus is also the strengthening and deepening of Dutch-Irish bilateral relations.

Agriculture Department

The Department of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality promotes the interests of the Dutch agrifood and horticulture sector as well as the interests in nature and biodiversity in Ireland. An Agriculture Officer is based in Dublin and supported by a larger team based at the Netherlands Embassy in London. Together they are part of the Netherlands Agricultural Network.
