Stronger Together for Women’s and Children’s Rights
The Netherlands and Indonesia continue to stand side by side in their commitment to advancing inclusive development and protecting the rights of women and children—working together toward a society that is more just, equitable, and compassionate.
That shared vision took another step forward as Dutch Ambassador to Indonesia Marc Gerritsen met with Deputy Minister Veronica Tan from the Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) in June.
Their meeting focused on deepening bilateral cooperation in two crucial areas: women’s empowerment and child protection. It was a conversation rooted not only in shared values, but also in concrete action.
A key highlight of the discussion was one of KemenPPPA’s flagship programs: Ruang Bersama Indonesia (RBI). This community-based initiative plays a vital role in strengthening women’s economic resilience, while also providing nutrition education and childcare services to families across Indonesia.
As both countries look to the future, partnerships like these form the foundation of meaningful, lasting change—where women and children are supported, protected, and empowered to thrive.
