NL Economic Mission to Indonesia: 18 Strategic MoUs and 4 Inspiring Field Trips
On 16 June, the Netherlands arrived in Indonesia with a delegation of 56 representatives from businesses, knowledge institutions, and government bodies. It was a powerful display of collaboration and shared ambition.
Led by Dutch Vice Minister for Foreign Economic Relations Michiel Sweers, 18 contracts were signed with Indonesian partners during this year Economic Mission—worth over €800 million, with more expected to follow. These agreements mark a significant step toward deepening cooperation between our two countries.
Throughout the visit, Dutch and Indonesian partners came together to exchange knowledge, identify challenges, and explore new opportunities—particularly in the horticulture, maritime, and water sectors. The mission’s core aim: to build long-term partnerships that contribute to a more sustainable and inclusive future for both nations.
But this mission is about more than business deals. It’s about sharing ideas, developing smart solutions, and learning from each other. Through joint projects and open dialogue, we reaffirm a simple truth: working together is essential in tackling today’s global challenges.
In addition to Jakarta, the Dutch delegation also took a field trip to Semarang, Makassar, and North Sumatra to explore topics related to water, maritime affairs, and horticulture.
Let’s continue creating partnerships that shape a sustainable future—for Indonesia, for the Netherlands, and for the world.
