About Indonesian Food in the Netherlands

The event explores how Indonesian food has taken shape in the Netherlands. Makanologie co-author Helena Smit joins moderator Teuku Reza Fadeli for an interview, followed by a conversation with culinary storyteller Ade Putri Paramadita about her appearance in the Dutch TV program Keuringsdienst van Waarde on saté saus. The event concludes with an interactive tasting of Dutch supermarket products such as sambal, kecap manis and peanut sauce, shaped by Indonesian flavors.

About Makanologie

Makanologie is a collection of stories where food serves as a window into migration, culture and identity. It highlights Indonesian migrants who built remarkable careers in the Dutch culinary world, intertwining their personal journeys with the childhood flavors they brought with them, and permanently enriching the Dutch landscape.
