The Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Hanke Bruins Slot visited Indonesia at the end of October to further solidify the friendly ties between his country and Indonesia.

On the first day of her visit, she co-presented a strategy to enhance bilateral collaboration with Indonesia's minister of foreign affairs, Retno Marsudi. Various Indonesian stakeholders, including students, businesses, and NGOs, had the opportunity to speak with the minister during an intensive program. At Indonesian International Islamic University, she spoke to a full lecture hall with a speech on the value of international collaboration and then took questions from the audience.

On the second day, the minister met with Deputy Secretary-General Michael Tene on her visit to ASEAN Headquarters in response to the Netherlands' recent status as an ASEAN partner. She visited various non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and groups involved in sustainable palm oil at a market held in the Embassy's garden. This is where she gained a better understanding of the Dutch and Indonesian partnerships aimed at greener manufacturing in the field of palm oil.

In addition, Minister Bruins Slot visited the Menteng Pulo war cemetery and Signify, a Dutch company, in Jakarta to gain insight into their sustainable production practices.
