During the Netherlands Economic Mission 2025, on 18 June, representatives from several leading Dutch universities—VU Amsterdam, the University of Twente, and the International Institute of Social Studies—visited Jakarta as part of a working mission focused on strengthening academic collaboration.

Facilitated by the Education and Science team of the Dutch Embassy in Jakarta, the visit sparked a series of fruitful discussions with Indonesian counterparts. It also marked the introduction of the Netherlands Knowledge House, a network organization aimed at enhancing cooperation in the fields of higher education and research.

During the visit, both sides explored new initiatives and collaborative projects that could deepen academic ties between the Netherlands and Indonesia, laying the groundwork for impactful partnerships in science, innovation, and education.

We extend our sincere gratitude to our Indonesian partners—the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), the Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP), and the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen)—for their continued cooperation and warm hospitality.

A special thank you as well to Nuffic Southeast Asia for their excellent support during the visit.

We are excited about the future and confident in the opportunities ahead to further strengthen our strategic partnership in higher education and science!
