Dutch Embassy's Education & Science Counsellor Visits University in Bandung
In a move to further solidify the partnership between the Netherlands and Indonesia in higher education and scientific research, Yvonne Klerks, Education and Science Counsellor at the Dutch Embassy, recently embarked on a working visit to Bandung.
Yvonne met with leaders and faculty members at three leading Indonesian universities—Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad), and Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI)—to review existing collaborations with Dutch institutions and explore new avenues for academic and research cooperation.
At ITB, she toured the Innovation Park and engaged in in-depth conversations with the Deputy Director of Regional Business Development and the Chairman of the Indonesia Chip Design Collaborative Centre (ICDEC). The discussions emphasized the growing potential for technology-driven partnerships in innovation and research.
The visit concluded with a walk through the 2025 Science, Technology, and Industry Convention (KSTI) exhibition, showcasing Indonesia’s advancements in research and development. The day concluded with a dinner reception alongside Dutch alumni, a testament to the long-standing academic bond between the two nations.
The Dutch Embassy congratulates the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology on the successful hosting of KSTI 2025 and extends warm wishes to all for a meaningful National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) on 10 August.
