Twenty young Indonesian diplomats from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs have successfully completed an intensive 25-day training program at the prestigious Clingendael Institute.

Throughout the program, participants dove deep into the world of diplomacy, tackling critical global issues including: Global Governance, International Security, and Energy Transition & Sustainability.

Through hands-on workshops, immersive simulations, and high-level working visits, including an exclusive visit to European Union institutions in Brussels, each participant gained firsthand experience navigating the complexities of modern diplomacy. The program also sharpened essential skills in cross-cultural communication and negotiation, while deepening the bonds of the Indonesia–Netherlands relationship.

To hear about their experiences in the Netherlands, Ambassador Marc Gerritsen hosted a dinner at his residence on May 10, bringing together all participants for an evening of reflection, laughter, and connection. Over the course of the night, participants shared their most memorable experiences, from language training at the Erasmus Training Centre to international relations classes at the Clingendael Institute, and the many highlights from their two-week stay in the Netherlands. The evening was made even more memorable by a fun and lively quiz, keeping the energy high and the smiles wide!
