On 15 August 2026, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Indonesia, together with the Netherlands War Graves Foundation in Indonesia, will organize solemn commemorations marking the end of the Second World War.

The commemorations will take place at three Netherlands War Graves Cemeteries across the archipelago — in Jakarta, Semarang, and Surabaya — bringing together communities in remembrance and reflection.

Together, we will honor the enduring legacy of the war victims, reflect on the profound lessons history has left us, and reaffirm our shared commitment to a peaceful future.
