Consular Affairs

Our consular department in New Delhi helps Dutch people living or staying in the area served by the Embassy, for example in an emergency. We deal with applications for new and renewed travel documents, and with applications for temporary travel documents for Dutch people whose passport has been stolen. In addition, our department is responsible for visa applications, consular declarations, obtaining Dutch nationality and legalising documents.

Civic Integration

The Consular department is also responsible for the civic integration exam (website only in Dutch) which you need to take before you can apply for authorisation for temporary stay (MVV) in the Netherlands or a residence permit for the purposes of family reunification. In India, however, you can arrange to sit the exam through the embassy in New Delhi ONLY.
