Circular Economy Summit 2025 - Hungary
Circular Economy Summit 2025
Increasing material consumption is responsible for more than half of the harmful effects on the climate. The transition to a circular economy is inevitable. This was the topic of this year's Circular Economy Summit organized by the Hungarian Business Council for Sustainable Development (BCSDH) and the Netherlands Embassy in Hungary.
In his opening speech, Willem van Ee, Ambassador of the Netherlands to Hungary, drew attention to the importance of forward-looking policies, innovative partnerships, and collective commitment in steering our economy toward a circular, sustainable and regenerative future.
Recornised experts reflected on the opportunities and challenges of transitioning to a circular economy - amongst others Attila Chikán, President of the BCSDH; Prof. Dr. Jacqueline Cramer, Emeritus Professor at Utrecht University; Dr. Péter Bera, Head of Department for Circular Economy at the Ministry of Energy; and Joost van Dun, Director of the Sustainable Solutions Group at ING Bank.
Ambassador van Ee handed over this year's "Sustainable Tulip Award" to the winner, SSH-System Kft, recognising their circular insulation solutions. The award was received by representatives of the company, Tímea Stverteczky and Zsolt Stverteczky.
