Smart Manufacturing - Czech Republic
Smart Manufacturing
The Smart Manufacturing Trade mission to the Czech Republic took place from October 9th to 12th, 2023. The mission was attended by 19 representatives from 14 companies, with Koninjlijke Metaalunie and RVO serving as co-organizers.
During the mission, the group visited leading Czech companies in smart manufacturing, such as Startech and Zebr . Additionally, visits to HiLase and Tescan showcased the world-class research being conducted in nanotechnology and lasers in Czechia. KSK Precision Motion showed us the craftsmanship and automation in ball screws production. The story of Walraven , which highlighted the successful merging of Czech and Dutch business cultures, served as an inspiring example of shared values.
The highlight of the mission was the International Engineering Fair in Brno, the largest engineering event in Central Europe, which attracted over 50,000 visitors. Throughout the fair, the 14 companies participated in a total of 80 matchmaking meetings, averaging 6 meetings per company. More than 70% of the participants indicated to return to Czechia in next 6 months to further develop or finalize their deals.
As part of the program, the Embassy organized two social events. A welcome dinner at the Residence of the Ambassador, where companies had the opportunity to pitch to Czech businesses.
The second event was a networking reception at the International Engineering Fair in Brno, co-organized with the Brno Regional Chamber of Commerce , a member of the European Enterprise Network.
Smart industry has been a key focus for the Embassy since 2019, resulting in the publication of the Sector Study Smart Industry Czech Republic – Strong Partners for Integrated Industries in Europe by RVO in 2021. This study was endorsed by the Czech Ministry of Trade and aimed to connect Dutch and Czech partners in the areas of digitization, automation, and advanced production technologies. Given that there had not been a trade mission in 17 years, this mission was of great importance in highlighting the potential for collaboration and investment in Czechia to the Dutch business community.
To facilitate meaningful business partnerships, the Embassy collaborated with an individual matchmaker and CzechTrade , a Czech state organization that supports Czech companies in exporting. This collaboration proved to be highly beneficial, as it created an engaging matchmaking experience for Dutch companies while fostering a productive and efficient working relationship with CzechTrade.
Furthermore, the Embassy will support bringing Czech companies to s’-Hertogenbosch in November 2023 in cooperation with Czech-based Intemac and Dutch the BOM/ EEN.
