The Netherlands Embassy in Nicosia has a vacancy for a General Affairs Officer

Location: Royal Netherlands Embassy in Nicosia
Duration: Contract-to-permanent position, starting with fixed-term contract for an initial period of one year with entry date January 1, 2026.
Work week: 37,5 (full-time)

Will you become the essential link within our Dutch Embassy team, playing an important role in all General (that is: administrative & internal) Affairs of the embassy and residence?

In this vital role, you will contribute to supporting the daily operations of the Embassy, ensuring everything runs smoothly behind the scenes. You know how to prioritize in a small mission environment where each day can be different. You will be the go-to person for colleagues and external partners alike when it comes to our office management. Salary information

  •  The salary for this position ranges between € 2.330,00 and € 3.495,00 gross per month depending on the relevant experience. Our benefits package includes a 13th month salary and a generous annual leave policy.
  • Hours worked outside of regular office hours, which do sometimes occur, qualify for overtime pay.

What are we looking for?

  • Possession of a high-school diploma and a driver’s license. A technical follow-up training with demonstrable knowledge (references).
  • A minimum of 5 years of driving experience, preferably in a diplomatic setting. Knowledge of the city maps of Nicosia, including landmarks, embassies and government buildings. Knowledge of vehicle safety and registration requirements. While you will mainly make use of the embassy’s car while on duty, incidental use of your own car (for a fee) would be a plus.
  • Experience with (supervision of) maintenance projects.
  • Excellent communication skills. Professional fluency in English and Greek required. The ability to exercise sound, independent, critical judgment.
  • Possession of a valid Cypriot work permit. The Embassy does not assist with applications for legal status in Cyprus.
