Peace, Security, Stability and Migration

Finding solutions together

Since approx. 700.000 Rohingya fled from Myanmar to Bangladesh in 2017, the Netherlands has been a strong supporter of the humanitarian response for these refugees in Bangladesh. The Netherlands is also promoting international accountability for the atrocities committed against the Rohingya in Myanmar.

Let's connect

Our colleagues are happy to help you!

The Netherlands supports Rohingya refugees and host communities in Cox’s Bazar district in an effort to save lives and restore dignity. Our programmatic support focuses on mental health and psychosocial support, water management, sexual and reproductive health and rights, women’s rights and transitional justice.

Since the Rohingya crisis is becoming increasingly protracted, our programmatic support also focuses on the humanitarian-development-peace nexus. This means that our programming also seeks to facilitate skills development and create livelihood opportunities for refugees and host communities.

Additionally, our humanitarian diplomacy efforts focus on promoting humanitarian access, the Grand Bargain commitments, protection and the prevention of sexual exploitation, abuse and harassment.

In order to work towards a long-term solution for the Rohingya in Myanmar, the Netherlands also supports international accountability mechanisms such as the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court and the International investigate Mechanism for Myanmar.
