Rule of Law
It supports a principle of governance in which all persons, institutions and entities, are accountable to the official laws of the country, equally enforced and independently adjudicated, consistent with international human rights norms and standards.
MATRA fund
MATRA is a Dutch abbreviation and stands for “societal transformation”. The objective of the MATRA fund is to contribute to sustainable societal transformation by supporting reforms in the areas of rule of law, good governance and democracy. The Embassy supports activities under the MATRA fund in Azerbaijan within the following areas:
- Public order and law enforcement in the area of gender equality;
- Conflict resolution and post-conflict reconciliation;
- Inclusion of women and minorities in political processes;
- Building resilient (civil) societies.
