Agriculture and Nature - Argentina-en
The Netherlands is strongly committed to building a sustainable future for agriculture, food systems, nature, and biodiversity worldwide. Through our Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LNV), we work internationally toward three closely connected goals: a long-term perspective for the agriculture, fisheries and horticulture sectors; global food security and climate objectives; and the conservation, restoration and sustainable use of biodiversity. These ambitions align with the Sustainable Development Goals, the Global Biodiversity Framework and the Paris Agreement.
To achieve this, the Netherlands focuses on three cross-cutting themes: knowledge and innovation, responsible business conduct, and inclusion. Guided by the Dutch Diamond approach, we collaborate with governments, the private sector, knowledge institutions, civil society, the financial sector and many other partners. Together, we aim to be a reliable and forward-looking partner in developing innovative solutions that strengthen the resilience of global food systems, protect nature and biodiversity, and improve productivity in an economically, socially and ecologically sustainable way.
A key instrument in this international effort is our global network of Agricultural Offices. The Agricultural Office at the embassy in Buenos Aires, responsible for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay, plays a central role in connecting Dutch expertise, technology and partnerships with local priorities and opportunities. By linking Dutch innovations to regional challenges, the office contributes directly to climate action, sustainable production and nature conservation.
Argentina and its neighboring countries offer fertile ground for innovation. The rapid growth of agricultural technology (AgTech), supported by incubators, accelerators and venture capital, creates opportunities to test and scale new solutions.
Nature-based solutions and the bioeconomy are essential components of this transition toward a #futureproof food system.
Looking ahead, global challenges in food security, water management, energy transition, trade and port infrastructure offer new opportunities to deepen our cooperation. The Netherlands and Argentina share a long history of successful collaboration and a strong belief in a sustainable and innovative future. As strategic partners, we will continue working together toward a fairer, safer and more resilient world.
