The Dutch Embassy in Tirana is hiring a Police Liaison Assistant to contribute to the fight against international crime and act as a contact point between the Netherlands and Albania and Kosovo. You will work in an international environment, supporting the police liaison and handling information exchange, legal assistance requests, network building, and administrative support.

SPECIFIC JOB INFORMATION
The police attaché in Tirana is the link between the Dutch police and justice system and Albania and Kosovo. As an assistant at the police attaché in Albania, you will contribute to the fight against international crime. This will be done by supporting legal assistance requests, the swift and reliable exchange of operational (sensitive) information, the development and maintenance of the network, and the provision of trends and analyses. Administrative duties and, where applicable, interpreting and translating are part of the duties, and in the police attaché's absence, covering post duties, where possible. The police unit is composed by a police attaché accredited by the Dutch police for the aforementioned countries. You will work under the supervision of the police attaché but be considered locally hired embassy staff.

B.1.2 DUTIES
Recording and editing investigative information and legal assistance requests in police systems.
Maintaining an overview of ongoing cases, monitoring progress, identifying and issuing reminders during case handling, and proactively involving the police attaché in these matters.
Acting, under the direction of the police attaché, as a link/contact person with the internal organization and external environment.
Assessing importance and urgency, establishing connections, and weighing the consequences of actions.
Managing joint agendas, maintaining, recording, and monitoring agreements, and establishing and maintaining contacts with relevant police and judicial officials in the Netherlands and the working area.
Organizing incoming delegations, meetings, receptions, working lunches and dinners.
Drafting policy notes and providing input for strategy documents on the field in coordination with the police liaisons.
Attending meetings and events and representing the Dutch police in the absence of the police liaisons.
Supporting, contributing ideas, and organizing training courses for local police services, if workload permits. __________________________________________________________________________

Knowledge of laws, regulations, and police procedures is a plus.
Experience working in an international context is a plus.

C. WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The police posting is part of the embassy, of which the Chef de Poste is the overall manager. The embassy in Tirana is a medium-sized post with a number of expatriate staff and various local staff. In close cooperation with various partners in the Netherlands and Albania, the embassy promotes the interests of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania in the political, consular, and economic spheres.
The embassy is located in a pleasant neighborhood in the center of Tirana. Biweekly staff meetings and regular departmental meetings and events contribute to the equal participation of all staff members on the embassy team. Salary: Scale 7 for locally hired employees at the embassy in Albania (in accordance with the RrLok (‘Rechtspositieregeling lokaal in dienst genomen werknemers’) and the PUW (‘Postuitwerking’) for Albania).
You will be employed by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Albania to support the police attaché (Liaison Officer) of the Dutch Police. ________________________________________________________________________________
