On Thursday 16th of March 2023, from 10.00 – 11.00, The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Tokyo co-organizes a seminar with RX Japan on the development of offshore wind power in Japan with Dutch experienced supply chain. In this free of charge session, top executives from the Netherlands will share their insights and knowledge on the success of the Dutch offshore wind collaborations and present solutions to the supply chain challenges that persist in Japan. The seminar will be led by a Master of Ceremony and has simultaneous interpretation available.
The 1-hour session held at Tokyo Big Sight is opened by Ms. Liesje Schreinemacher, the Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation. During her speech, she elaborates on the long joint history between Japan and the Netherlands, the Dutch energy transition policy, and the importance of international collaboration to a safe and sustainable future.
Next, Mr. Satoshi Hamada, Chief Operations Officer of the International Power Division of Mitsubishi Corporation gives a 20-minute presentation on the Mitsubishi approach towards the energy transition. Specifically, he shares the experiences of the collaboration with Eneco, a Dutch Energy company and how this has been a successful case example.
Lastly, Mr. Shigeya Furutani, Business Development Manager at Van Oord presents knowledge and insight from the Dutch side. He introduces Van Oord’s Offshore Wind Portfolio and their international projects. Moreover, he analyzes the current challenges in the international supply chain for Offshore Wind before assessing the impact on Japanese projects.
