Ontario Regiment Museum honours Canadian WWII veteran Don White

Canadian WWII veteran Don White was part of the Royal Canadian Dragoons when he and his comrades liberated the Netherlands in 1945. This year, Mr. White was looking forward to visiting the Netherlands to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Netherlands but due to the COVID-19 pandemic his trip had to be cancelled.

The Ontario Regiment Museum had a surprise in store for veteran Don White. Last year, the Museum had been working on restoring an original Staghound vehicle on which veteran Don White has served. The Staghound is now in driving condition and is even capable of firing its gun. In the pictures you can see a young Trooper White with a Staghound vehicle. Last month the Staghound was transported to Petawawa, where the Royal Canadian Dragoons are located.

Via de link you can see the video in which the renovated Staghound is shown to veteran Don White. Veteran Don White was thankful to the restoration team and shared some memories of serving on the Staghound.
