Visa applications in Australia via VFS Global

From December 2019, short-stay visa applications can be submitted at the Dutch visa application centres (VAC) of VFS Global in Australia. VFS Global is an external service provider. All applications will be sent to and assessed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

You can submit your application at the VACs in Sydney (as of 5 December), Melbourne (as of 10 December) or Perth (as of 18 December).

External service provider

Our external service provider, VFS Global, will forward your application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Netherlands. The ministry will assess your application.

VFS Global will charge an extra service fee of 35 AUD (Australian dollars) per applicant in addition to the regular fee charged for a Schengen visa or Caribbean visa.

Making an appointment

If you live in Australia and want to apply for a visa for the Netherlands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius or St Maarten, you can make an appointment online.

Improved visa service

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cooperates with external service providers to open up more  front desks in locations closer to its customers, in order to reduce the travel burden. It is also keen to digitize the application process wherever possible. This will allow applicants to complete more stages of the visa application process online.
