Observing the Process of a Regulatory Framework Circular Economy Approach

On 13th and 14th November the Embassy was present during the National Seminar and Workshop “Regulatory Framework of Circular Economy Approach in Plastic Waste Management” organized by the Indonesian Center for Environmental Law and our partner International Development Law Organization.

The Indonesian Ministry of Environment and Forestry is currently developing a strategy to use the circular economy concept as future strategy to manage waste. The seminar and workshop took place to inform the public on the efforts on plastics waste management through a circular economy approach and to inform on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and its implementation.

Dutch researcher Ivo Meijer from the University of Wageningen also participated and presented  Dutch practices and background during the talkshow "Implementation of plastic reduction by producers: product redesign & Extended Producer Responsibility".
