On Tuesday 12 November more than 300 Indonesia experts came together in the Netherlands for the third Indonesia NOW 2019 to talk about future-oriented cooperation between Indonesia and the Netherlands. This was organized by DutchCulture and the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The conference was kicked off by inspiring speeches from DutchCulture, Max Valstar, head South and Southeast Asia and Oceania Division at Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and by the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to the Netherlands H.E. I Gusti Agung Wesaka Puja.
After the speeches the group was divided for break out sessions covering topics such as ‘Online disinformation in Election times’, Sustainable Design, Jokowi’s Second Term, Shared Heritage and the movement of the capital.
A few prominent Indonesians were attending the conference and contributing with a plenary session:
Leila Chudori, who is an Indonesian author, journalist and screenwriter for film and television, shared her view on the development of Indonesia the last 10 years, as well as her beliefs for the future.
Tita Larasati, chair of Bandung Creative City Forum, attended from Indonesia by giving an inspiring presentation on the power of Creative Cities and community design examples in Bandung.
