Visa applications in Chongqing (China) via TLScontact
From 19 September 2019 you will be able to apply for a visa for the Netherlands or the Caribbean part of the Kingdom at the Netherlands Visa Application Centre of TLScontact in Chongqing.
External Service Provider
Our external service provider, TLScontact, will forward your application to the Netherlands embassy in Beijing or the consulates-general in Guangzhou or Shanghai, where it will be assessed.
TLScontact will charge an extra service fee in addition to the regular fee charged for a Schengen visa or Caribbean visa.
Making an appointment
If you live in Chongqing and want to apply for a visa for the Netherlands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Saba, St Eustatius or St Maarten, you can make an appointment online.
You can also submit your visa application at one of the other locations of TLScontact in China:
Please note that holders of Chinese service and public affairs passport should submit their Schengen visa application with main destination the Netherlands, at the consulate-general of Hungary in Chongqing (representing the Netherlands for this category of visa applicants) instead of the VAC in Chongqing.
Improved visa service
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is using external service providers to open more and more front desks in locations closer to customers. It is also keen to digitalise the application process wherever possible. In the future, this will allow applicants to complete more stages of the application process from the comfort of their own home, such as uploading scans of the required supporting documents, paying online and making an appointment to provide fingerprints. This will make the visa application process better, simpler and more modern.
