Trade mission with Minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen in Poland

From 9 to 11 October the Netherlands Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management, Mrs. Cora van Nieuwenhuizen, visited three Polish cities – Wrocław, Warsaw and Gdańsk - together with 42 Dutch companies, knowledge institutes and local governments. Main goal of the visit was to explore business opportunities on the Polish market and to stimulate Polish-Dutch partnership building on the themes water and transport.

Economic mission to Poland

In line with the missions theme “Transport Connects, Water Unites” several events took place, providing the participants the opportunity to exchange best practices and to share views in the fields of water safety, freight transport, inland shipping and smart logistics. Next to the seminars and round tables, the mission program contained field visits to Schavemaker rail terminal near Wrocław and the Port of Gdańsk, as well as the Trade Dinner.  Several members of the Dutch business delegation took part in the B2B matchmaking sessions, provided by the Netherlands-Polish Chamber of Commerce.

Signing Letter of Intent

The Minister actively participated in all business related parts of the program and had the formal meetings with her Polish counterparts. With the Minister of Infrastructure she discussed among others the rail cooperation and road safety issues. With the Minister of Maritime Economy and Inland Navigation a Letter of Intent on water management between Poland and the Netherlands has been signed.
