Dutch writers taking part in George Town Literature Festival in Penang
Two Dutch writers take part in this year’s George Town Literature Festival in Penang: Adriaan van Dis and Chris Keulemans.The George Town Literature Festival runs from 25 – 27 November.
Adriaan van Dis is an acclaimed Dutch novelist. Raised in a family that was part Dutch and part Indo-European in Indonesia, his work deals with themes of identity, race and the trauma of war.
Chris Keulemans is a travelling writer and journalist. He was born in Tunisia, grew up in Indonesia and is based in Amsterdam. He has published six books of fiction and non-fiction and many articles on literature, war, cinema, refugees, design, cities and migration.
