The Dutch recorder player Erik Bosgraaf will present a wonderful programme with his mysterious sounds and brilliant soloist parts. You will enjoy truly every single of his music playing.

Erik Bosgraaf is generally considered to be one of the world’s most virtuosic recorder players. He is certainly the most adventurous. To Erik, the recorder is an inexhaustible source of inspiration and possibilities. He improvises, plays jazz, utilizes electronics and likes working with people in other areas of artistic endeavour, cinematographers, for example. His repertoire extends from Medieval music to Vivaldi’s Four Seasons to tomorrow’s music. For Erik there is no fundamental difference between early and contemporary music. He is of the opinion that ‘early music is always new’.”

Thiemo Wind is one of the leading musicologists and music journalists of The Netherlands. For more than twenty years he was music editor of national newspaper De Telegraaf. As a musicologist, he specialised in 17th-century Dutch recorder music by Jacob van Eyck and others, on which he wrote a dissertation. It was he who discovered the great talent of Erik Bosgraaf and invited him in 2006 to make a CD recording of Van Eyck’s Der Fluyten Lust-hof (The Recorder’s Garden of Delight), which meant the start of Bosgraaf’s international career.
